Of Counsel
Kate brings unique experience to our team with years of both firm and in-house experience working in the technology arena. With this experience, she provides clients with a pro-active but balanced approach for addressing legal risk while also recognizing the growth challenges faced by up-and-coming technology companies. In addition, although her primary focus has been structuring, draft and negotiating complex technology transactions, including SaaS, cloud, software development, professional services, and outsourcing arrangements, she has been known as a one-woman legal department, handling employment and benefits issues, drafting website privacy policies and terms of use, addressing product development and sales matters as well as establishing compliance with PCI-DSS and breach notification laws.
Kate received her B.A in Political Science from Yale University and graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2005. After law school, Kate joined Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon as an associate in the Intellectual Property Group. Subsequently, Kate served as GC for several start-up and medium-sized technology companies.
Kate is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Texas.
